Premise: According to Robert Marzano, summarizing strengthens a student’s ability to synthesize information and reproduce it in a new, condensed form. Furthermore, reading comprehension is increased when students summarize what they have read.
Proposal: Students use the iPad application Scribble Press to summarize and retell stories in Spanish that they have been told in class. The stories will include key vocabulary and non-linguistic representations. Students will be able to share their stories with their classmates.
Effect: Students will learn to identify main ideas and consolidate the important details that support them. Students will also focus on key vocabulary
